AMI Certificate workshop
This is an AMI certificate course, also known as AMI Parent Engagement Workshop, participants with 90%  participation will receive an AMI certificate.

In this course, Heidi Philippart, a highly experienced and respected AMI 0-3 trainer and parent coach, will discuss with you the essentials for infant development and key skills we need to care for babies and small children.

She will also talk about how to decide if development is ‘on track’ and what we can do if we are worried. In this course, you will learn about the common obstacles that can be removed so your child can develop to their full potential.  

Six important topics for 0-3 children will be covered in the 10-hour course, namely 
  • feeding 
  • sleeping 
  • toileting
  • bilingualism 
  • siblings
  • screen time

Live Online Session Themes

In this course we will discuss the essentials for infant development and key skills we need to care for babies and small children. We will also talk about how to decide if development is ‘on track’ and what we can do if we are worried.

You will learn about the common obstacles that can be removed so your child can develop to their full potential.  

Please find below the general topics that will be covered during the 10-hour course. We will run a survey prior to the course to find out the key concerns of the participants to narrow down in-depth discussions on a few areas among the general topics below. 

Day 1 (Sat, 28 Aug 2021)
2:30 - 8:30 pm SG time incl. 1 hr dinner break 

    • Essentials for child development (0-3 years old)
      Introduce key Montessori philosophies for the development of 0-3 years children.  
    • Sleeping
      Discuss the natural sleep needs of children to prepare for healthy sleep habits, that eventually lead to children able to put themselves to sleep. We will also discuss transitions and rituals that can support your child to sleep to their own rhythm.
    • Toileting
      All children must learn to use the toilet, but battles over ‘toilet training’ can be parent’s worst nightmare. This course will lay out very practical steps to make toileting as natural and stress-free as possible. 
    • Commercial Products 
      Discuss the pro's and con's of using some commercial products popular for children between 0-3 years old, from a scientific lens. 

Day 2 (Sat, 25 Sept 2021)     
2:30 - 8:30 pm SG time incl.  1 hr dinner break

    • Feeding 
      An overview of the natural process from birth to weaning, and all the steps in between, including practical tips to develop independence and a healthy attitude to food.
    • Bilingualism
      In this course we will discuss how children acquire language, how to best introduce multiple languages, and how to overcome difficulties.
    • Siblings
      In this course we will discover how to develop a loving relationship between siblings. We will talk about sibling conflict, positive discipline, and playing well.
    • Screen Time
      With the right information, we can decide when, where and how much ‘screen time’ is healthy for our family. We will also talk about setting healthy limits with technology.

Heidi Philippart 

Heidi is the founder of two Montessori Bilingual Preschools and the 2Voices Montessori Study Room for adult education in Amsterdam.

Her specialty is helping parents in the application of Montessori principles and bilingualism in the home environment. Heidi has spoken extensively around the Netherlands and internationally on Montessori-related topics for the birth to three years age group.

Heidi holds a Masters Degree in Education and is an AMI* Trainer, examiner and consultant at the 0-3 level.
